On Sunday 4 May 2008, Shaykh Pirzada attended the opening ceremony of the Al-Karam Community Link Centre (ACL) in Bradford, West Yorkshire, and by leading the inauguration gathering demonstrated his support and prayed for its success. The Al-Karam Community Link (ACL) has been set up by a graduate of Jamia Al-Karam in order to provide help and service to the local community. It aims to provide a centre that will cater for the Islamic and moral educational needs of the local Muslim children; to supplement the local school education with various homework clubs; to provide language support to the local community in Urdu, Arabic and Punjabi; to nurture and educate local Muslim children in accordance with Islamic, moral and spiritual values and to work with the local community to promote social interaction and develop community cohesion. Abu Bakr Ali, a graduate of Jamia Al-Karam and principal coordinator of the ACL, commented, “At the ACL, we aim to provide local Muslim children with an Islamic educational system that is delivered professionally and that is, not only well structured but, one that is also age-centred. Personalised learning and varying forms of tutoring are central to the ACL set up. We hope to work hard and develop the ACL further so that it can provide additional services to the local community.” At the ceremony, Shaykh Pirzada praised the intention and resolve of the principal coordinator of the ACL and prayed for its success and continuation.
