wp810c6bc2_1b.jpg On Sunday 10 June 2007 Jamia Al-Karam hosted a gathering of remembrance and prayers of Esale Thawab for the late wife of Justice Shaykh Muhammad Karam Shah al-Azhari (ra) and mother of Shaykh Muhammad Amin al-Hasanat Shah al-Qurashi.

Shaykh Amin al-Hasanat Shah had arrived in London on Saturday 2 June 2007 to attend the two-day international conference organised by the University of Cambridge titled ‘Islam and Muslims in the World Today’. The conference occurred at Lancaster House in London and was attended by Shaykh M I H Pirzada as well as many other leading Muslim figures from around the world including Imam Hamza Yusuf from America and the Mufti of Egypt, Ali Gomaa and Shaykh Abdal-Hakim Murad. It was also attended by various dignitaries from the United Kingdom including Prime Minister Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, David Cameron and Prince Charles.

Halfway during the first day of the conference, Shaykh Pirzada and Shaykh Amin al-Hasanat Shah received the news of his noble mother’s departure. Immediately, Shaykh Amin al-Hasanat Shah left the conference and prompt arrangements for his departure back to Pakistan were made and he left London in the late afternoon on Monday 4 June 2007. By the grace of the Almighty, he was able to reach Bhera in Pakistan early on Tuesday and he himself led the funeral prayer of his beloved mother. The news of her departure spread very quickly throughout Pakistan and radio stations and television networks played their part in conveying this news to the masses.

Within twenty four hours, thousands upon thousands of people gathered in the small town of Bhera to offer the funeral prayer. Leading religious figures, scholars and masha’ikh from around Pakistan had also gathered and joined in the crowd of thousands to offer the prayer and show respect to a virtuous and remarkable lady who devoted her entire life to the service of religion and provided great support to the works of her husband, the late Justice Shaykh Muhammad Karam Shah al-Azhari (ra).

In England, Jamia Al-Karam had the honour of hosting the official gathering of remembrance and prayers of Esale Thawab with kind permission from Shaykh Amin al-Hasanat Shah at Jamia Al-Karam on Sunday 10 June 2007. Various scholars and persons from around the country attended the ceremony which was lead by Shaykh Pirzada.

Shaykh Amin al-Hasanat Shah is due to arrive in the United Kingdom towards the end of the month to attend the Gateway to Divine Mercy 2007; Enlightening our Hearts conference to be held in Manchester on Sunday 1 July 2007.

May Allah (most high) forgive the mistakes of this noble and virtuous individual and grant her a high position in paradise. Amin.
