Bestselling ‘Islamic Way of Worship’ to be revised

The English translation of Shaykh M I H Pirzada’s Imdad al-Fiqh fi’l-‘Ibadat by the name of ‘Islamic Way of Worship’ has become Al-Karam Publications’ bestseller. Many thousands of copies have been sold over the past few years. It is a widely acclaimed book and is taught in mosques and religious seminaries around the country.

Imdad al-Fiqh fi’l-‘Ibadat is a detailed guidebook on the essence of worship according to the Hanafi School of Jurisprudence. It discusses in depth cleanliness (tahara), prayer (salat), fasting (sawm), charity (zakat) and pilgrimage (hajj). The book has won praise from Shaykh Yusuf Abu Sneina (Imam and Khatib of al-Masjid al-Aqsa, Jerusalem), Dr Sabri ‘Abd al-Ra‘uf Muhammad (Professor of Comparative Fiqh at Al-Azhar University, Cairo) and the late Diya’ al-Ummat, Justice Shaykh Muhammad Karam Shah al-Azhari (ra).

Recently Al-Karam Publications has announced that the English version, Islamic Way of Worship, is to be revised and work has already begun. Errors highlighted in the present edition will be corrected. Al-Karam Publications will present a revised edition with a fresh translation including with it all the necessary footnotes as well as references to authenticated works. The aim is that Islamic Way of Worship truly reflects the language, scholarly detail, eloquence, beauty and quality of the original Imdad al-Fiqh fi’l-‘Ibadat written by Shaykh M I H Pirzada.

The present edition will continue to be available from January 2007; however from the Summer of 2007, the revised edition will be available at a bookshop near you.
