Shaykh Amin al-Hasanat Shah al-Qurashi arriving at the hospital Muslim Charity; Helping the Needy, was established in 1999 by Shaykh M I H Pirzada to help the poor and needy around the world. Muslim Charity has absolutely no paid workers in the United Kingdom and very little expenses, therefore, maximum amount of donations reach the actual cause.

Since its formation, Muslim Charity has helped hundreds of thousands of needy people around the world. Its activities have taken place in Iran following the earthquake, Indonesia following the Tsunami, Kashmir following the Asian earthquake to name but a few. It has highly successful projects of housing for those without a roof, safe water schemes, orphan sponsorship and medical assistance.

Under the leadership of Shaykh M I H Pirzada, Muslim Charity has not only focused on emergency aid but a lot of thought, energy and commitment has gone into providing a long term solution that will help the needy for generations to come. This vision of the founder led to the establishment of the first Gyne Hospital in Jhang, Pakistan, in July 2005. The rapid success of this hospital and its reputation of quality led to an expansion in this life saving project. In less than two years, Muslim Charity’s second Gyne Hospital in Jhapal, Faisalabad, was completed whose doors opened to the public on 15th May 2007.

On Sunday 20th May 2007, an opening ceremony was held at Gyne Hospital Faisalabad to officially open the hospital at the hands of Shaykh Muhammad Amin al-Hasanat Shah al-Qurashi. The ceremony was a huge success attended by over four hundred locals. The lists of special guests included Bakhtyar H Pirzada al-Azhari (Vice Principal of Jamia Al-Karam representing Muslim Charity from the United Kingdom), Pir Muhammad Mazhar Hussain al-Qadiri (Manager of Muslim Charity’s Gyne Hospitals Project in Pakistan), Ms Ghulam Bibi Bharwana (MNA for Jhang and State Minister for Youth Affairs, Pakistan) and Dr Nisar Ahmad (MNA for Faisalabad and Chairman of the Standing Committee on Narcotics Control, Pakistan).

All guests and speakers paid immense tribute to the hospital project and to Shaykh M I H Pirzada for pursuing this life saving mission that has undoubtedly benefited the needy in that part of the world. Bakhtyar H Pirzada al-Azhari commented on the need for these hospitals stating, “In Pakistan, every twenty minutes either the mother, or the child, or both lose their Muslim Charity Gyne Hospital Faisalabad, Pakistan lives during childbirth. This amounts to nearly twenty six thousand unnecessary deaths a year. Muslim Charity is to be congratulated for providing a long term solution for the needy people. The success of these hospitals is due to the hard work, sincerity and determination of the founder, Shaykh M I H Pirzada, and the mutual trust and cooperation between Muslim Charity in the United Kingdom and the management of these hospitals here in Pakistan.”

Pir Muhammad Mazhar Hussain gave a detailed speech on the objectives of the hospital, its costs and how it will help and support the poor people. He stated, “Those who are poor just need to get a message to the hospital and the hospital will send its ambulance to their door, pick them up and upon dropping them back home safely after recovery will not take even one rupee.”

Both Members of the National Assembly reiterated their full support for these hospitals and congratulated the people of the area as well as Muslim Charity for providing their area with this gift that will be cherished.

In his keynote address, Shaykh Muhammad Amin al-Hasanat Shah al-Qurashi commented, “Shaykh M I H Pirzada’s passion of helping the needy can be seen when on the 8th of October the earthquake hit the Kashmir region; this individual came forward and built a complete village for one hundred people to reside in. Not just has he built houses, but he has constructed a school, mosque and supplied them with an Imam and teachers. This locale is today known as the Al-Karam Village. We are not trying to say that we will solve the problems of all people in the world, but what we are saying is that we will give whatever we have in our capacity in trying to rid from people any small sorrow we can.”

The ceremony concluded with a prayer led by Shaykh Muhammad Amin al-Hasanat Shah al-Qurashi. It was an occasion of immense joy since the generosity of the donors to Muslim Charity and the hard work of the volunteers had produced this second remarkable centre of service to humanity.

Muslim Charity’s third hospital (Rahmat Khatun Hospital, Mangani) and its fourth hospital (Azad Kashmir Hospital) are currently under construction and will be completed within a year.

Muslim Charity appeals to the generous public to continue to support the charity so that it can continue to help the needy in a truly life saving manner.
