Jamia Al-Karam begins its new Academic Year ______________
On Sunday 3 September 2006, Jamia Al-Karam reopened for the new academic year of 2006-2007. The continuous success of the Al-Karam Secondary School, as well as the Al-Karam Centre for Higher Education, has prompted a huge interest for admission purposes at the institution. New admissions have increased this year and certain year groups now have began their waiting lists.
The previous year’s result of the secondary school, namely the 95% pass rate at grades A*-C in a minimum of 5 subjects, show a continuous effort by members of pastoral and academic staff in aiming for the best and truly becoming a centre of spiritual and educational excellence. Moreover, 12 students graduated from the centre for higher education in the summer of 2006 qualified as Imams and scholars of the Islamic faith. 11 of those students are at this moment pursuing further enhanced education at Al-Azhar University in Cairo, where as the 12th student has began teaching in his mosque and serving his local community. Members of staff, all aspire to achieve much more during this academic year. A large number of new admissions is a promising start. Furthermore, during the first week, the civilian Imam to the Armed Forces, Asim Hafiz, visited the institution and congratulated members of staff on their achievements thus far. He also had an opportunity to meet and converse with Shaykh M I H Pirzada and was gifted with his recent publications including the widely acclaimed Imdad-us-Sarf and Imdad-un-Nahv. [ENDS]
